Godless is an engrossing Netflix limited series written and directed by Scott Frank and executive-produced by Steven Soderbergh. It follows a web of gunpowder and grudges in a tiny mining town in New Mexico, where almost the entire male population was wiped out by a mining disaster two years prior. The story follows the rivalry between notorious outlaw Frank Griffin (Jeff Daniels) and his former protégé Roy Goode (Jack O'Connell). Despite the familiar Western tropes, the show fails to fully explore the fascinating character dynamics and fails to fulfill its potential.
